the weekend of five

this weekend reminded me a lot of being five. because because because because because...

1. barclay and i went to my parent's farm. that's where i hung out most when i was five. [because i lived there.]

2. on saturday morning before brekkie, we went outside and jumped on the trampoline and rode bikes in our pajamas. do you know how much i love being outside in pajamas?
more than you think times 12 is how much.

 3. after brekkie, we built a fort in the trees. and yes, i was still in my pajamas.

4. dad got out the gun and the boys shot pop cans off the front porch.

5. we played in the coolest tree house of all times.

6. a happy host of other reasons such as eating like i had the metabolism of a 5 year old, building puzzles and playing games on the floor of the living room, family movie night, and crokinole.

on the way home, we got stuck in 10 km/h traffic like one can only do in the prairies.

all in all, i give thanksgiving weekend 2010 a massive thumbs up, or one pickle.

how was yours?  [i realize you're not all canadian. so you'll have to wait a while to answer this question i guess.]

Oh. My. Gosh. I am dying for that tree house!! Screw being five. I'm 24 and I want one! ;)

I predict that my Thanksgiving will be great, as I will be making delicious things of the pumpkin variety. :-)

Not Canadian, so I'll get back to you on Thanksgiving in a few weeks or so. But. But. But. Your weekend looks so, so fabulous!

Between pajama-outside-time, tree forts, AND a tree house that rivals the Swiss Family Robinson House, I barely know what to do with myself.

kyla: about half of them are, and half of them i took with my mom's camera. funny though, i can't actually tell which are which. haha, but i'm not much of a photographer, i just take the dang things so i can remember what happened. :)

ashlee: well build one then! right now. and have a tea party in it.

chess: good. send some my way.

sarah: just run into the country and get some of those things for yourself. do it now, it's so wonderful.

and thanks jen. :D

FUNNNN! This reminds me of old thanksgiving at my grandpas farm before he passed, minus the tractor rides throught the woods, chasing goats, and walking down to the tank.
I will have to wait for my Thanksgiving!

I love all day pajama days! And awesome tree houses and trampolines and riding bikes and eating like I have a crazy fast metabolism!!!! And I so love being five for entire weekends at a time. (But the last time I did that was probably when I was five.)

I'll let you know about my Thanksgiving in about a month and a half, but I'm not waiting that long for my five yr old weekend!! :)

ps. I love all the family pics! You guys are completely adorable.

I think that I SO have been in that tree house. Almost exactly a year ago! It MUST be the one. Is the the one in the wee town of Pambren..? (I don't even know how to spell that place... but you know what I mean right...? That "city" with the school... Milla.... ?

is it the one? It all just seems too familiar to not be. Also.... is that where your family lives? Are those the trampolines you jumped on? Cause I've jumped on those too...

we're practically sisters.

nell, erin, & biscuit: thanks! :)

jen glen: you're gross. :D

kelly ann & amyschmamey: pajamas DO rule. definitely. you should build a fort in your pajamas right now.

crystal: isn't that nuts???? :D but so happy. and i absolutely miss it too. but not enough to go back for more than a weekend.

jannaya: you SHOULD have come home for thanksgiving! i haven't seen you since your wedding.

angela: you should have your five year old weekend starting now. let me know how it goes.

ching: it is wonderful. i miss being a farm kid sometimes...

jen g-son: haha, well thanks. someday maybe i'll save enough to buy a real camera!

dany.elle: yes! that's the one! we were only there on sunday though, the trampolines were on my farm about 2 & a half hours from there. we stopped by on our way through to drop my sister off cuz she goes there. :) we are sisters.
