the truth about the weekend

it is friday.
but you didn't need me to tell you that.
you've had friday scratching at your door all week,
while monday dripped down the back of your neck like an ice cube
and tuesday perched on your shoulder and pecked at your ears
and wednesday layed down and died beneath you, so you had to find a new way to get to thursday,
thursday, which seemed like it'd never come--and when it came, like it'd never leave.
but it did and here we are
and tomorrow, somehow, it will be monday again.
because saturday and sunday don't really exist.
because we just pretend they do so we don't go crazy.

I love your blog. Sent your link to some friends and now they're hooked too. Can't believe I wasn't following it!
Anyhoo, don't go changin'.

well. now I'm depressed... but still ok with pretending Saturday and Sunday exist. I probably would be crazy already if it weren't for them.

this is an unbelievable post filled with metaphor.
i love this very much.

one day i will print this on a really cool paper, frame it, and put it in my house by my calendar.

Amen, sister friend. Friday at 3:31 is the best time of the entire week. B/c after that, every minute is just taking you one step closer to Monday! (Wow, we are depressing.)

i seriously am in love with the way your mind thinks. and i'm so glad that randomly clicking through 'next page' on here got me to your blog back in the day.

p.s. there were two people who looked EXACTLY like you and barclay (from what i know from pictures) that came into my line at the movie theater yesterday. i almost asked if the girl's name was 'suzy' but i think my awkward staring was bad enough.
